Quinnipiac men’s ice hockey continues to struggle offensively with its second 2–2 tie in a row, this time coming against Arizona State (ASU) at Oceanside Arena in Tempe, Arizona.
After the natural extra frame of 5-on- 5 play, the Bobcats (8–12–4) and the Sun Devils (7–13–5) played a five minute, 3-on-3 overtime frame. ASU’s Louie Rowe scored the eventual ‘game-winner’ with a blast from the slot with 58 seconds to play.
Before the extra fun for the fans, the Bobcats received goals in regulation from senior forward Kevin Duane and sophomore forward Alex Whelan while freshman goalie Keith Petruzzelli made 24 of 26 saves in his second consecutive start.
And with just two goals on 30 shots — albeit, Sun Devils goalie Joey Daccord (Ottawa’s 2015 seventh-round pick) is first in the nation in saves (754 in 23 games played) — the narrative continues to be the same for this Quinnipiac team....
